Joe Biden signed a government spending legislation into law late last week, avoiding a potential government shutdown ahead of the holiday season after the US Congress passed it.
The legislation would extend government funding until March 14, provide $100 billion for disaster-hit states and $10 billion for farmers, and extend farm and food aid programmes due to expire at the end of the year.
